Welcome to TemporarySMS ("temporary-number.online", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or utilizing any part of our website, services, APIs, or phone numbers, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please discontinue using the service immediately.
1. Nature of the Service
TemporarySMS provides temporary, shared virtual phone numbers to receive incoming Short Message Service (SMS) text messages. You acknowledge and agree that:
- Public Visibility: All phone numbers provided on this platform are public. Every incoming SMS message sent to these numbers is displayed publicly on our website and can be viewed by anyone on the internet.
- No Exclusivity: Numbers are shared among all website visitors simultaneously. Multiple individuals may receive verification messages on the same number.
- Transient Availability: Phone numbers are temporary and may be rotated, deactivated, or decommissioned at any time without advance notice based on carrier availability.
2. Permitted Use
TemporarySMS is designed to safeguard individual privacy. Permitted uses include:
- Receiving non-sensitive sign-up verification codes for forums, trial software, and newsletters.
- Testing SMS reception logic during software or mobile application development.
- Preventing marketing robocalls and commercial telemarketing to personal phone lines.
3. Strictly Prohibited Activities
You agree NOT to use TemporarySMS for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purposes. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:
- Financial Fraud: Attempting to create or verify accounts with banks, credit card providers, cryptocurrency exchanges, payment processors (e.g., PayPal, Stripe), or financial transfer services.
- Account Hijacking: Reading or utilizing verification codes intended for accounts that do not belong to you, or using our numbers to reset passwords for another individual's account.
- Illegal Schemes & Harassment: Facilitating identity theft, spam campaigns, phishing, scams, cyberstalking, or transmitting defamatory, obscene, or illicit content.
- Malicious Automation: Excessive scraping, denial-of-service attacks (DDoS), or attempting to bypass security infrastructure or rate limits of TemporarySMS or any third-party provider.
We reserve the right to cooperate fully with legal authorities, telecommunication regulators, and affected third parties in investigating suspected illegal activity.
4. Security Warning: No Account Recovery Reliance
Because numbers are public and temporary, you should never use a TemporarySMS number as a primary recovery method or two-factor authentication (2FA) credential for any account you value. Anyone who views the inbox may see subsequent password reset codes, and once a number leaves our list, you will lose the ability to receive future texts to that line permanently.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
TemporarySMS is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.
We do not guarantee that verification codes will arrive from any specific third-party provider, that numbers will remain online for any duration, or that the service will be bug-free or immune to transmission delays.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TemporarySMS, its operators, contributors, and upstream telecom partners shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your access to or inability to access the service, unauthorized third-party access to messages, or any loss of accounts or data.
7. Modifications to Service & Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of TemporarySMS at any time. We may update these Terms of Service periodically. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
